Xiaomi’s sub-brand officially pulled the curtain back on its latest performance powerhouses today, introducing the REDMI K90 Max and the REDMI K Pad 2 to the Chinese market. The K90 Max marks a significant milestone for the company as its first smartphone to feature an active air-cooling system, headlined by a massive 18.1mm internal fan.
This specialized thermal architecture utilizes a vertical intake structure that directs airflow straight to the processor through a simulated vortex duct, achieving a record-breaking 78.6% airflow utilization rate. In real-world testing, the device managed to drop from 48°C to 38°C in just 100 seconds, maintaining a cool 36.7°C even after four hours of intensive gaming on Honor of Kings.

Despite the inclusion of a physical fan, the phone maintains its IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings thanks to an independent sealed duct design. The fan supports three speed settings, and even at maximum capacity, it operates at just 32dB, comparable to the ambient noise of a quiet room at night. To reassure users, the company is backing the hardware with a six-year fan warranty and lifetime free cleaning services.
Under the hood, the K90 Max is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500+ chipset paired with a dedicated D2 AI display chip. This combination pushed the device to a staggering benchmark score of 4.16 million points, the highest currently recorded for the Dimensity platform. The flagship experience is further bolstered by LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage.

The front of the device is dominated by a 6.83-inch M10 display with a peak brightness of 3500 nits and a 165Hz refresh rate. It supports a 480Hz multi-finger touch reporting rate and a 3500Hz instantaneous sampling rate, with native support for over 40 games at 165fps. The audio experience is handled by symmetrical dual speakers tuned by Bose, which reportedly improves the clarity of in-game footsteps by 200%.
Power is supplied by a massive 8550mAh battery that supports 100W wired fast charging and bypass charging, allowing users to play while plugged in without generating extra heat. For photography, the device features a 50MP main camera with an f/1.68 aperture and OIS.
Pricing starts at 3499 yuan for the 12GB+256GB model, though international availability remains unconfirmed.

Sharing the stage was the REDMI K Pad 2, a compact high-performance gaming tablet that mirrors the processing power of its smartphone sibling with the same Dimensity 9500 chipset. To keep the thermals in check without an active fan, the tablet employs a massive 15300 square millimeter vapor chamber liquid cooling system and a centered chip architecture to balance heat distribution.
It features an 8.8-inch 3K LCD esports screen with a 165Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1100 nits. Despite its slim 7.8mm profile and 335g weight, the tablet packs a 9100mAh battery—a 1600mAh increase over its predecessor—with 67W fast charging and bypass charging capabilities.
Wrapped in an all-metal unibody design available in Electric Purple, Space Silver, and Deep Black, the K Pad 2 also features Bose-tuned audio and dual X-axis linear motors. Like the K90 Max, it carries full IP66, IP68, and IP69 certifications. The tablet is priced starting at 3399 yuan for the 8GB+256GB configuration.
