HONOR officially launched the X80 Pro Max in China on June 22, and it’s a mid-range phone that punches way above its weight class — setting two global firsts at once.
The headline spec is its 11,000mAh fourth-generation silicon-carbon battery, the largest single-cell battery ever fitted into a mass-produced smartphone.

That’s more than double the 5,000mAh capacity found in most flagships today, and HONOR says it achieved a Guinness World Record of 26 hours, 8 minutes, and 34 seconds of continuous navigation-level usage.
Despite the enormous cell, the phone manages to stay at 8.08mm thin and 203g — genuinely slim for what’s inside.

The display is equally record-breaking. The 6.8-inch 1.5K (2788×1280) OLED flat panel hits a local peak brightness of 10,000 nits, making it the world’s first smartphone screen to cross that threshold. In practice, full-screen brightness sits at a more typical 2,000 nits HBM, but outdoor visibility should be exceptional. The panel also runs at 120Hz adaptive refresh with 3,840Hz PWM high-frequency dimming for eye comfort, and bezels are trimmed to just 1.3mm.
Under the hood, the X80 Pro Max is the global debut device for Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 5. It ships with MagicOS 10 based on Android 16, featuring Hummingbird Architecture 2.0 for sustained long-term performance smoothness, along with an AI Grip Recognition feature that detects whether you’re holding the phone with your left or right hand — handy for one-handed call answering.

Charging comes in at 90W wired, and the phone also supports 27W reverse wired charging, so it can top up other devices like a power bank. Camera setup is kept simple: a 50MP OIS main shooter on the back and an 8MP front camera.

Durability is clearly a priority too. The X80 Pro Max carries SGS Gold Label Five-Star drop certification up to 3 meters, and a full IP66/IP68/IP69/IP69K waterproofing rating — meaning it can handle submersion up to 10 meters and even resist high-temperature water. HONOR is also throwing in a two-year free screen replacement service for accidental drop damage, a first in the industry.

The phone comes in four colors — Vitality Orange, Lightning Red, Moonlit White, and Black Armor — with the first two featuring vegan leather backs, and Vitality Orange getting a dual-tone two-color design.
Pricing in China starts at CNY 1,999 (~RM1,225) for 8GB+128GB, going up to CNY 2,199 (~RM1,348) for 8GB+256GB, CNY 2,499 (~RM1,532) for 8GB+512GB, and CNY 2,799 (~RM1,715) for the top 12GB+512GB variant.
There’s no official word yet on international availability, but a global launch is rumored to follow soon.
