vivo X500 Series Launches in Malaysia, Featuring 200MP ZEISS Telephoto Camera

vivo has launched the X500 series in Malaysia, comprising the X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max. Both flagship phones focus on ZEISS-powered photography, advanced video recording, and large-capacity batteries.

vivo X500 Pro Max

The vivo X500 Pro Max is the higher-end model, featuring a 6.85-inch 2K ZEISS Master Color Display with a variable refresh rate of up to 144Hz.

Powering the device is MediaTek’s Dimensity 9600 Pro, built on TSMC’s second-generation 2nm-class N2P process. It is paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and a 2+3+3 all-big-core CPU architecture, promising improvements in performance and power efficiency.

Photography is a major highlight, with a triple rear camera system co-developed with ZEISS:

  • 50MP ZEISS TrueDynamic main camera: Features a 1/1.28-inch sensor, an f/1.57 aperture, and 3-degree gimbal-level optical image stabilisation.
  • 200MP ZEISS APO telephoto camera: Uses a 1/1.4-inch sensor with an 85mm-equivalent focal length, CIPA 7.0-rated stabilisation, and 60fps subject tracking.
  • 50MP ZEISS ultra-wide camera: Features a 1/2.76-inch sensor and a 15mm-equivalent focal length.

The X500 Pro Max also supports an optional 400mm Equivalent vivo ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2 Ultra, extending its reach for distant subjects. A 30x long-distance action capture mode is available for scenarios such as concerts, sporting events, and wildlife photography.

Video capabilities include 4K 120fps Pro AF Tracking Video, Auto Framing Video, 4K Cinematic Portrait Video, and 4K Dual-View Video. Its 17EV TrueDynamic Log Video mode is designed to preserve more detail in highlights and shadows, giving creators greater flexibility during colour grading.

For battery life, the phone packs a 7,800mAh BlueVolt battery, supporting 90W wired FlashCharge and 40W wireless charging. The device measures approximately 7.95mm thick and weighs around 248g.

vivo X500 Pro

For users who prefer a more compact flagship, the vivo X500 Pro features a 6.36-inch ZEISS Master Color Display with a refresh rate of up to 144Hz.

It shares the Dimensity 9600 Pro chipset with the Pro Max, alongside 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage.

The rear camera system consists of a 50MP ZEISS TrueDynamic main camera, a 64MP ZEISS APO telephoto camera, and a 50MP ZEISS ultra-wide camera. The main camera supports 1.5-degree gimbal-level optical image stabilisation, while the telephoto camera offers an 85mm-equivalent focal length and CIPA 7.0-rated stabilisation.

Users can also purchase the optional 200mm Equivalent vivo ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2 to improve long-range photography.

The X500 Pro houses a 6,500mAh BlueVolt battery with 90W wired FlashCharge and 40W wireless charging. It measures approximately 8.12mm thick and weighs around 153g, making it considerably lighter than its larger sibling.

Shared features and software

Both models offer IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance, a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, a USB 3.2 port, and an infrared blaster.

They run OriginOS 7, based on Android 17, with a range of AI-powered features. The phones also adopt vivo’s Tideline Design language, which uses flowing curves to integrate the camera module with the rear panel.

Colour options include Moonlight Black, Sunny Snow White, Starry Grey, and Sunset Orange.
