Redmi has officially launched its latest Note series in Malaysia, one of the brand’s strongest-selling lineups in the country. The campaign tagline “Titan Power, Go Max” nods to two things: the “Titan” build toughness the Note series is known for, and “Max” referring to battery capacity. Actor and content creator Meerqeen has been brought on as the local face of the launch.
The headline news this round is that Redmi is introducing a Pro Max variant to the Note series for the very first time, pushing the “massive battery” selling point to a new extreme.
Redmi Note 17 Pro Max

The top-tier model runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chipset paired with 12GB of RAM (expandable with another 12GB of virtual memory). It sports a 6.83-inch flat 1.5K AMOLED display at 2772 x 1280 resolution with a 120Hz refresh rate.

The real showstopper is the 10,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, which Redmi claims can last up to three days of typical use on a single charge. It supports 100W HyperCharge fast charging, promising a full day’s power from just 20 minutes on the plug. Redmi also states the battery retains over 80% of its capacity after 1,600 charge cycles, giving it an expected lifespan of around six years.
It also comes with reverse wired charging of up to 27W, handy for topping up a friend’s phone in a pinch.

On durability, the phone has passed a 3-metre drop-test certification and carries IP66/IP68/IP69K dust and water resistance, with the ability to survive submersion for up to 72 hours. It’s protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
Colour options include Cloud Blush, Black, and Purple, with the Cloud Blush finish featuring a photochromic coating that shifts colour under sunlight.
Redmi Note 17 Pro
The standard Pro model steps down to a Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset, but keeps the same 6.83-inch AMOLED panel (1280 x 2772), also with 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, Dolby Vision support, and peak brightness of up to 3,500 nits.
Battery capacity here is 8,340mAh, also silicon-carbon based, with 67W wired fast charging said to reach 50% in 34 minutes.
Camera-wise, the Pro gets a 50MP main sensor (f/1.8, OIS) alongside an 8MP ultra-wide lens, with a 16MP front camera for selfies.
Other features include dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support, an IR blaster, and IP68/IP69K water resistance. Colour choices are Sky Blue, Black, Satin Orange, and Purple.
Durability Certifications & Software Support
Across the board, the Note 17 series has earned three TÜV Rheinland (South Germany) certifications covering 3-metre drop resistance and IP66–IP69K dust/water protection. Redmi says the phones use 17 custom-engineered waterproofing components internally and went through 10 rounds of air-tightness testing.
On the software side, Redmi is promising its “Built for Years” commitment: 4 years of OS upgrades and 6 years of security patches. Buyers also get a 24-month warranty that includes one free screen replacement and one free back-cover replacement, plus a one-time free battery replacement within 36 months — a fairly generous after-sales package.
REDMI Note 17 / 4G

Alongside the Pro models, the lineup features two entry-level devices: the REDMI Note 17 4G and REDMI Note 17 5G. Both share an identical design and key specifications, available in three colorways—Celestial Purple, Sky Teal, and Black.
