HONOR has officially launched the HONOR X9e Pro 5G in Malaysia, with the new mid-range smartphone putting a major focus on battery life and durability.
Built around an 11,000mAh battery
The biggest headline is undoubtedly the 11,000mAh battery, one of the largest capacities seen on a HONOR smartphone.
HONOR claims the phone can deliver up to 66.8 hours of video playback, 164.5 hours of music playback and 35.6 hours of short-video viewing on a single charge under its laboratory tests.
The phone also supports 80W wired HONOR SuperCharge, alongside 27W wired reverse charging, allowing the X9e Pro to act as a power source for other devices.
Durability is a major focus
HONOR has also given the X9e Pro a reinforced construction designed around what it calls Ultra-Bounce Anti-Drop Technology 4.0. The phone is designed to withstand drops of up to 3 metres across 10 different surfaces and has received an SGS 5-Star Comprehensive Reliability certification.
During earlier media demonstrations in Malaysia, HONOR showed the phone surviving a series of physical abuse tests, including striking nails, hitting metal cans and projectile impacts. The company has also highlighted its resistance to hot water.
For water protection, the X9e Pro carries IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings. HONOR says its multi-layer waterproofing, compartment sealing and pressure-resistant construction can protect the device in demanding water-exposure scenarios, with the phone rated for water immersion of up to 10 metres.
There is even a dedicated underwater photography mode that adjusts colours for underwater conditions.
The durability package extends beyond the hardware too. HONOR Rakyat Care+ provides 730 days of accidental drop protection covering the display and rear camera glass, as well as 730 days of water-damage protection with one complimentary repair at an authorised service centre, subject to its terms. Buyers also receive a one-year extended warranty.
10,000-nit display and 108MP OIS camera
On the front, the X9e Pro features a display with a claimed peak brightness of up to 10,000 nits, which HONOR says is around 67% brighter than its predecessor. The higher brightness is particularly aimed at improving visibility when using the phone outdoors under strong sunlight.
Photography is handled by a 108MP OIS main camera with a 1/1.67-inch sensor, 0.64μm pixel size and an f/1.75 aperture. The camera supports CIPA 6.0-level stabilisation for steadier handheld and low-light shots.
HONOR has also added AI Enhanced Night, AI Enhanced Zoom and AI Enhanced Portrait features. Its Moving Photo feature now includes Motion Trail, Motion Clone and Slow Motion effects, while AI Image-to-Video 2.0 can turn photos and text prompts into short videos.
Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 and 72-month smoothness claim
Powering the X9e Pro is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chipset, paired with HONOR’s C1+ chip and HONOR’s self-developed Falcon Architecture 2.0 for system resource management.
HONOR claims the phone can maintain a smooth experience for up to 72 months, based on its own testing and software optimisation. As with similar long-term smoothness claims, actual performance will depend on software updates, applications and usage over time.
The X9e Pro will be offered in Dawn Gold, Midnight Black, Reddish Brown and Royal Purple.
HONOR also announced that the X9 series has received an ASEAN Record certification for being Malaysia’s best-selling mid-range smartphone series for three consecutive years, according to the company.
Malaysia price and pre-order deal
The HONOR X9e Pro 5G starts at RM1,899 in Malaysia. During the September 24 to October 8 pre-order period, the RM100 Instant Rebate brings the effective starting price down to RM1,799.
Pre-order customers will also receive a free HONOR Pad X7 (4GB+128GB, WiFi), along with HONOR Rakyat Care+ and the one-year extended warranty. HONOR puts the total value of the bundled gifts and benefits at RM1,626.
