HONOR 600 Series China Variants Launched With Massive 8600mAh Battery and 200MP Camera

HONOR 600

HONOR officially unveiled its HONOR 600 series tonight with two new models — the HONOR 600 “Super Edition” and the HONOR 600 Pro — marking the brand’s latest push into the mid-range segment with a strong focus on camera performance, battery life, and student-friendly features. The timing of the launch, just ahead of China’s major 618 shopping festival, appears deliberate, with national subsidy programs bringing both devices down to more competitive price points.

On the design front, both phones share what HONOR calls its “3D Star River Aesthetic,” built around a dual magnetic attachment construction, 42 diamond-cut four-pointed star accents, a dual magnetic cat-eye twin-ring camera module, and a gradient nebula finish.

The bezels are uniformly trimmed to 0.98mm on all four sides, which HONOR claims is among the narrowest symmetrical bezels in the industry right now. Four colorways are available: Obsidian Black, Lucky Star, Green Apple, and Feather Blue.

Camera hardware is clearly the headline feature of the series. Both models carry a 200MP large-sensor main camera with support for full focal-length 4K Live output, letting users switch between 1x, 2x, and 3.5x zoom while recording.

HONOR also introduces what it describes as an industry-first dual symmetric AI zoom flash system, designed to replicate the fill-lighting effect of a mirrorless camera. The HONOR 600 Pro takes things further with an additional 50MP telephoto lens at 3.5x optical zoom, CIPA 6.0-stop OIS, lossless 4K Live photo editing, and direct sharing to platforms like Xiaohongshu — pushing its camera spec sheet noticeably closer to dedicated imaging-focused flagships.

Battery life is another major selling point, and both phones pack an 8,600mAh cell — a capacity that’s genuinely uncommon at this price tier.

The HONOR 600 Pro adds 50W wireless charging on top of that, while the Ultimate Edition compensates with a robust IP68 + IP69 + IP69K triple-rating water and dust resistance certification, a combination that’s relatively rare in its class.

The two models diverge most noticeably in their chipsets. The Super Edition runs on the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, while the Pro steps up to the Dimensity 8550 Elite, which should offer better performance-per-watt in day-to-day use. The Pro also supports Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0, giving it a connectivity edge over its sibling.

Both phones feature what HONOR describes as an exclusive “Paper Full-Color Mode” on the display, which mimics the texture and tone of Daolin paper — the kind commonly used in Chinese school textbooks — as a means of reducing eye strain during extended reading sessions.

Screen brightness spans from 1 nit all the way up to 8,000 nits, and both models support video quality enhancement for both short and long-form content.

Speaking of students, the 600 series comes with dedicated campus network optimization built in, covering more than 1,500 universities and colleges across China.

Features include instant network switching, automatic login authentication, and data usage alerts — a surprisingly specific set of additions that, combined with the oversized battery and relatively affordable pricing, makes the target demographic pretty clear.

This is very much a device aimed at college students, and HONOR isn’t being subtle about it.
