What happens when a smartphone is strapped to a rally car as it tackles mud, flying stones and rain? That is the setting for HONOR Malaysia’s new collaboration with Malaysian film TERBANG, which puts the HONOR X9e Pro at the centre of a story about toughness and perseverance.
Announced on 29 October, the partnership comprises two brand films built around durability, resilience, determination and national pride. HONOR has shared details of the first film, which is available on its Malaysian social channels.
X9e Pro takes on a rally-inspired drive
In the first video, the X9e Pro is mounted on the side of a sports car as it travels along narrow muddy roads and rough terrain. The sequence includes high-speed corners, flying stones and rain, with HONOR describing the phone as continuing to record throughout the drive.
The racing scenes give the campaign a more dynamic backdrop for the phone’s durability message. Road impacts and fast-moving action are woven into the film rather than presented as a standalone specification demonstration.
A Malaysian rally comeback story
TERBANG draws inspiration from Malaysian rally legend Karamjit Singh. It follows Ajeet as he returns to rally racing, works through personal setbacks and pursues his dream of competing internationally.
The brand film intercuts the drive with moments from Ajeet’s struggles, the support he receives and his decision to start again. These scenes connect the character’s persistence with the resilient image HONOR is promoting for the X9e Pro.
For Malaysian audiences, the collaboration brings a local film story into a technology campaign, linking a racing comeback with the phone’s toughness-focused positioning.
The footage is a promotional demonstration. Actual durability and coverage remain subject to official test conditions and warranty terms.
