Apple has unveiled its new iMac and 14-inch MacBook Pro, both powered by the latest M6 chip. The upgrades focus on processing power, on-device AI capabilities, graphics performance, storage speeds and wireless connectivity.
While the iMac retains its familiar all-in-one design, the MacBook Pro 14 continues to target professionals, developers and content creators who need powerful performance in a portable machine.
MacBook Pro 14 M6

The new MacBook Pro 14 is powered by Apple’s M6 chip, featuring a 12-core CPU, 12-core GPU and Dual 16-core Neural Engine.
Compared with the previous-generation M5 model, Apple claims the new laptop delivers up to 30% faster graphics performance and up to 25% faster performance for on-device AI workloads.

The improvements are designed to benefit tasks such as 3D modelling, photo editing, local large language model (LLM) processing and AI-powered image generation.
The GPU also features Neural Accelerators in each core, while the chip’s third-generation ray-tracing engine and Dynamic Caching help improve graphics-intensive workloads.
Memory options include 16GB, 24GB and 32GB of unified memory, with memory bandwidth reaching up to 170GB/s on supported configurations.
Battery life remains a major selling point, with Apple rating the new MacBook Pro for up to 24 hours of use on a single charge. Fast charging is supported, with a compatible 96W or higher USB-C power adapter capable of charging the battery to 50% in around 30 minutes.
The laptop retains its 14.2-inch Liquid Retina XDR display, featuring up to 1,600 nits of peak HDR brightness and a 120Hz ProMotion refresh rate. A Nano-texture display option is also available for users who want to reduce glare.

Connectivity includes three Thunderbolt 4 ports, HDMI, an SDXC card slot, a 3.5mm headphone jack and MagSafe 3 charging. The laptop can drive up to two external displays and also features a 12MP Center Stage camera, Desk View, a six-speaker sound system and Spatial Audio.
The design remains largely unchanged, with Space Black and Silver as the available colour options. The laptop weighs approximately 1.55kg.
iMac M6

Apple has also updated its 24-inch iMac with the M6 chip, bringing a significant boost to graphics and AI performance over the previous M4 generation.
According to Apple, the new iMac delivers up to five times faster on-device AI performance compared with the M4 model. This makes it better suited to running local AI models and handling AI-assisted creative workflows without relying entirely on cloud processing.
The M6 chip features up to a 12-core CPU and 12-core GPU, with Neural Accelerators built into each GPU core. Apple also claims up to twice the graphics performance for demanding tasks compared with the previous generation.

The desktop retains its 24-inch 4.5K Retina display, with a resolution of 4480 × 2520 pixels, 500 nits of brightness and support for the P3 wide colour gamut.
Its slim all-in-one design is unchanged, with seven colour options: Blue, Green, Pink, Yellow, Purple, Orange and Silver.
Connectivity has been upgraded with Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6. Storage read and write speeds are up to twice as fast as the previous generation, while an optional 2.5Gb Ethernet connection is available for faster wired networking.

Depending on the configuration, the iMac comes with up to four Thunderbolt 4 ports and supports up to two external 6K displays. It also features a 12MP Center Stage camera, Desk View and a speaker system supporting Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos.
The new iMac runs macOS 27, bringing updated system features alongside Apple’s latest Apple Intelligence capabilities and Siri AI.
