MyGOV Now Offers Online MyKad Replacement From RM10

MyGOV Malaysia app interface on a smartphone

Malaysians can now start a MyKad replacement application through the MyGOV Malaysia app. The Ministry of Digital has announced the service, giving eligible users a mobile route to submit their request before collecting the replacement identity card at a JPN counter.

There are two details to check before applying: the online transaction system runs during weekday office hours, and the fee depends on why the card needs replacing.

How to find MyKad replacement in MyGOV

  1. Download or update MyGOV Malaysia and sign in to your verified account.
  2. Open Kelahiran & Pengenalan Diri, then select Kad Pengenalan.
  3. Choose Penggantian MyKad and complete the requested details and any supporting documents.
  4. Review the application, select a collection centre and follow the online payment instructions.

The official MyGOV website provides links to the app on the App Store, Google Play and Huawei AppGallery.

Fees start at RM10, with eligibility conditions

MyGovernment lists an online replacement fee range of RM10 to RM110. A damaged-card replacement for a citizen costs RM10, while JPN lists RM110 for a first lost-card replacement, including the processing charge.

The replacement portal accepts applications for physical card damage, chip damage, ordinary replacement and a first loss caused by negligence. The available options and conditions in the application should guide your selection.

JPN’s damaged-card guidance limits its remote application route to citizens who do not need a new photograph or changes to their personal information. Anyone needing those changes should check the appropriate procedure with JPN first. Its guidance also provides for free replacement of a card damaged within 12 months of delivery, subject to the applicable conditions.

Online applications have office hours

The JPN system operates Monday to Friday, 8am to 4.30pm. It closes on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. Payment options shown on the portal are FPX, debit cards and credit cards.

Collect the new card at JPN

The portal lists collection after 30 minutes at JPN’s Putrajaya headquarters, state headquarters and UTC branches. Other branches take five working days in Peninsular Malaysia or seven working days in Sabah and Sarawak. Confirm your application status and collection arrangements before travelling.

Bring the payment receipt when collecting your MyKad. For an online damaged-card replacement, JPN also requires the original damaged card at collection.
