vivo S60 Series Launches in China: 4K Live Camera, 7,200mAh Battery, Starting at RM1,701

vivo officially launched the S60 series in China on May 29, introducing two models — the standard S60 and the S60 Lite/Vitality Edition — targeting young users with a strong focus on aesthetics and camera performance. Pre-orders are now open, with units shipping from June 3.

The design language this time revolves around what vivo calls “Star Glow Aesthetics,” with the signature “Starry Sea” colourway alongside “Early Summer Green” and “Midsummer Night.”

The rear panel is carved from a single piece of glass through a 33-step cold-sculpting process, giving it a seamless, premium feel. Both models are rated IP68 and IP69 for dust and water resistance, and carry SGS drop resistance certification.

On the camera front, the S60 is where vivo has gone all in. The standard model gets a 50MP Sony main camera with 3-degree OIS gimbal-level stabilisation, paired with a 50MP IMX882 periscope telephoto and an 8MP ultrawide.

The headline feature is the industry-first 4K Star Live — the phone automatically detects highlights in bright conditions and renders real-time starburst effects on reflective surfaces like water or jewellery, turning everyday Live Photos into something a lot more cinematic. There’s also 4K Natural Live for smoother, more consistent frame-to-frame colour, and Creative Sticker Live that lets users long-press to cut out moving subjects as animated stickers.

In a first for the industry, vivo has partnered with Xiaohongshu (RED) to let S60 users publish 3D spatial photos directly on the platform.

Under the hood, the standard S60 runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, while the S60 Lite opts for the MediaTek Dimensity 7500.

Both share a 7,200mAh ultra-thin battery with 90W wired charging, 3D ultrasonic fingerprint (unlocking in as little as 0.1 seconds), stereo speakers, X-axis haptic motor, and infrared blaster. vivo promises five years of smooth performance backed by its in-house Blue River optimisation engine.

Pricing for the S60 Lite starts at ¥2,899 (approx. RM1,701) for the 8GB+256GB variant, going up to ¥3,199 (approx. RM1,877) and ¥3,499 (approx. RM2,053) for higher configurations. The standard S60 starts at ¥3,599 (approx. RM2,112) for 12GB+256GB, with the top-end 16GB+512GB variant priced at ¥4,399 (approx. RM2,582). With China’s national subsidy applied, the S60 Lite drops to as low as ¥2,464.15 (approx. RM1,446), and the standard S60 to ¥3,099 (approx. RM1,819).
