Malaysians can now book and pay for overseas rides through TNG eWallet, with access across 47 countries and more than 12,000 cities. Launched on 5 November 2026 with Alipay+, the feature uses your existing eWallet balance and shows fares in ringgit before you confirm a booking.
Which ride services are available?
Providers vary by destination. In China, the options include DiDi Travel and AMap. Japan has GO, South Korea has Kakao T, the United States and Canada have Lyft, and supported European Union destinations have Bolt. Availability within each destination depends on the services shown in the app.
How to book a ride
Open TNG eWallet and search for Ride Hailing Overseas. Enter your pickup point and destination, choose an available vehicle type and review the fare before confirming. Trip details and transaction records remain accessible in TNG eWallet.
For DiDi Travel in China, first-time users need to register using a Malaysian +60 mobile number. Check any verification prompts before relying on the service for your first trip.
Travel promotions through December
The Travel in One GO campaign runs from 1 November to 31 December 2026. MDROID reports overseas ride discounts of up to 50%, with the actual offer depending on the destination and provider. Check the in-app offer for its discount cap, eligibility and any minimum spend before booking.
The feature joins TNG eWallet’s overseas QR payments, travel eSIMs and Visa Travel Card services. For travellers, the practical benefit is being able to arrange a ride through an app they already use at home.
