Samsung One UI 8 Rolls Out to 40+ Galaxy Devices with Multimodal AI Upgrades

Samsung is officially rolling out One UI 8, its most ambitious software update yet, starting with the Galaxy S25 series.

The update marks a decisive shift toward AI-native mobile experiences, with smarter interactions, deeper personalization, and a security framework built for the post-quantum era.

The rollout begins with Galaxy S25 Ultra, S25+, and S25, and will expand rapidly to S24 Ultra, S24+, S24, S24 FE, Z Fold6, and Z Flip6. By year’s end, dozens more devices will join the list, including Z Fold5, Z Flip5, Z Fold4, Z Flip4, S23 Ultra, S23+, S23, S23 FE, S22 Ultra, S22+, S22, and the full Tab S10, S9, and S8 lineups. Even mid-range models like the Galaxy A55, A35, and A15 are slated to receive the update.

At the heart of One UI 8 is the all-new-upgraded Gemini Live, the real-time AI assistant we are all familiar by now that responds contextually while you browse, stream, or multitask. With the update, whether you’re watching a video or composing a message, Gemini can explain, translate, or suggest—without switching apps.

Circle to Search with Google now works inside games and media, letting users highlight anything onscreen for instant answers. And with live screen translation, foreign-language content becomes readable as you scroll.

Samsung has also reimagined how AI fits into creative workflows. On foldables and tablets, AI-generated results appear side-by-side with your content, ready to be dragged into documents, emails, or social posts.

Z Flip users get new FlexWindow upgrades, including voice-activated search and AI-generated wallpapers and watch faces.

Security takes a leap forward with Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection (KEEP), which isolates app data in individually encrypted containers. Knox Matrix adds a new layer of device-to-device threat response, logging out of Samsung accounts when risks are detected and alerting connected Galaxy devices. Secure Wi-Fi now includes post-quantum cryptography to guard against future threats.

One UI 8 also introduces tools like Audio Eraser to remove background noise from recordings, Portrait Studio for stylized pet and human portraits, and Call Captions for real-time voice-to-text during calls. Interpreter mode now supports live translation via keyboard input, making multilingual conversations smoother than ever.

Samsung says the update will reach over 40 Galaxy models by early 2026, bringing AI-powered productivity, privacy, and personalization to millions of users worldwide.

As of writing, there’s still no report of Malaysian Galaxy users receiving the update yet. We speculate the update will arrive only after the long holidays. Keep your eyes peeled for more info on MyMobileTrend.
