Samsung Launches One UI 8.5 Beta: Enhanced Creativity Tools, Seamless Cross-Device Connectivity, and Stronger Security

Samsung Electronics has officially announced the One UI 8.5 Beta Program, introducing a new and more intuitive content creation experience, smoother cross-device connectivity, and upgraded security protection. With a series of new enhancements, One UI 8.5 improves workflow efficiency, simplifies device management, and reinforces user data safety.

What’s New in One UI 8.5 for Content Creation?

One UI 8.5 delivers a more streamlined process for creating and sharing content. With the upgraded Photo Assistant (Note 1), users can continuously generate new images without repeatedly saving multiple copies. Once editing is complete, users can review all versions through the Editing History and easily select their preferred final output.

Sharing content becomes even more seamless. The enhanced Quick Share (Note 2) can automatically recognize people in photos and proactively suggest sending the images to the relevant contacts, making sharing faster and more intelligent.

How One UI 8.5 Improves Cross-Device Connectivity

The latest cross-device capabilities offer convenient file management, easier network sharing, and smoother communication across nearby devices within the Galaxy ecosystem.

Powered by Auracast technology, Audio Broadcast (Note 3) enables nearby LE Audio-supported devices to receive audio effortlessly. Beyond media audio, users can now broadcast their own voice through the built-in microphone on Galaxy smartphones—ideal for group travel, tours, or outdoor activities.

The new Storage Share (Note 4) further boosts data flow across Galaxy devices. Users can browse files stored on other Galaxy smartphones, tablets, and PCs directly from the My Files app. Additionally, Samsung smart displays and other Galaxy devices can also access files stored on the user’s phone, creating a more interconnected Galaxy ecosystem.

Stronger Protection for Galaxy Devices

One UI 8.5 introduces enhanced security features that give users more control over their device protection.

When a device is lost or stolen, Theft Protection helps safeguard personal data from unauthorized access. If multiple attempts to unlock the device fail, the Failed Authentication Lock will automatically lock the screen to prevent further tampering. Additional verification options have also been added to strengthen the security experience.

Software Update Availability

The One UI 8.5 Beta Program is now rolling out to Galaxy S25 series users in select markets including Germany, India, South Korea, Poland, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Galaxy users can register for the Beta program through the Samsung Members app.
