The realme 16 series has officially made its global debut in India today, with the launch of two new models under the realme 16 Pro lineup: the realme 16 Pro and the higher-end realme 16 Pro+.
According to realme India, the realme 16 Pro series adopts a brand-new “Urban Wild Design” language, marking the brand’s renewed collaboration with renowned Japanese industrial designer Naoto Fukasawa. The devices are offered in Master Gold and Master Grey, alongside two India-exclusive colour options, Camellia Pink and Orchid Purple.

From the colour naming to the choice of collaborator, it is clear that realme has placed strong emphasis on industrial design this time. Beyond the clean and understated camera deco, the phones feature a jewellery-grade glossy finish combined with naturally textured materials on the back cover. Both models are also notably slim and lightweight, with a thickness of around 7.75mm and a weight of approximately 192g.

Durability is another key focus. The realme 16 Pro series is among the most rugged smartphones in the brand’s portfolio, offering extensive water and dust resistance with IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K certifications. The devices are also rated to withstand temperatures of up to 80°C.

In terms of performance, the realme 16 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Max 5G processor, while the more premium realme 16 Pro+ features a custom-tuned Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 mobile platform. realme claims an AnTuTu benchmark score of up to 1.44 million for the Pro+ variant, significantly outperforming other smartphones based on the same chipset class.

Both models are equipped with a 1.5K-resolution AMOLED display featuring 4D Curve+ quad-curved glass. The screen supports a 144Hz refresh rate and is said to reach a peak brightness of up to 6,500 nits.

Battery life stands out as one of the series’ highlights. The realme 16 Pro and 16 Pro+ are both fitted with large 7,000mAh batteries (typical value) and support 80W wired fast charging.
Imaging has also received a major upgrade. The realme 16 Pro series introduces the new “LumaColor” imaging system, which has received TÜV Rheinland certification for improved colour accuracy and more natural colour reproduction.

The Pro+ model is the first in the series to feature a 200MP main camera, capable of capturing portraits with 1x to 10x zoom. It also includes a 50MP periscope telephoto lens, offering 3.5x optical zoom and up to 120x digital zoom.

On the software side, the devices run realme UI 7.0 based on Android 16, with a range of AI-powered imaging and interaction features. AI Genie has been upgraded to version 2.0, bringing enhanced voice-controlled AI photo editing for added convenience.
In terms of pricing, the realme 16 Pro in India is priced at ₹34,999 (approximately RM1,569) for the 8GB+128GB variant, ₹36,999 (approximately RM1,659) for the 8GB+256GB version, while the 12GB+256GB model is priced at ₹39,999 (approximately RM1,794).
Meanwhile, the realme 16 Pro+ starts at ₹43,999 (approximately RM1,973) for the 8GB+128GB variant, rises to ₹45,999 (approximately RM2,063) for the 8GB+256GB option, and reaches ₹48,999 (approximately RM2,198) for the 12GB+256GB configuration.
