After nearly two years of anticipation and a steady stream of official feature reveals, the pricing for the Proton e.MAS 5 electric vehicle has finally been announced.
Official distributor PRO-NET unveiled the pricing for the e.MAS 5 electric hatchback today. The Proton e.MAS 5 Prime variant is initially priced at RM59,800, while the Premium variant is set at RM72,800.

In an exciting launch announcement, PRO-NET is offering a special introductory rebate of RM3,000, bringing the final on-the-road prices down to RM56,800 for the Prime and RM69,800 for the Premium. This pricing strategy places the new EV below the previously estimated RM60,000 to RM80,000 bracket, making it Malaysia’s first officially priced electric vehicle below the RM100,000 mark.
The new model will initially be brought in as a completely built-up (CBU) unit imported from China. However, plans are already in place for local assembly (CKD) at Proton’s new electric vehicle manufacturing facility in Tanjung Malim.
Performance and Charging Specifications

In terms of power, the Prime variant is equipped with a 30.12kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery, paired with a 58kW (78 hp) electric motor producing 130 Nm of torque, offering a WLTP range of 225 km. The Premium variant steps up with a larger 40.16kWh LFP battery, an 85kW (114 hp) motor, 150 Nm of torque, and a WLTP range of 325 km. Both models support 6.6kW single-phase AC charging. The Prime variant takes approximately 4.3 hours to charge from 10% to 100% via AC, while the larger battery in the Premium variant requires about 5.9 hours. Although the DC fast charging speed for the Prime variant has not been formally disclosed, PRO-NET previously indicated it could charge from 30% to 80% in 21 minutes, similar to the Premium’s known 71kW DC charging capability.
Warranty and Exclusive Launch Package

PRO-NET is offering a comprehensive 6-year, unlimited-mileage vehicle warranty, alongside an 8-year or 160,000 km warranty for the high-voltage battery and components. There are five available exterior colours. The Marble Cream and Quartz Rose finishes are exclusive to the Premium variant, and are paired with a Snow White interior. The other three colours—Graphite Silver, Moonstone White, and Slate Grey—come with a Flint Grey interior and are available for both the Prime and Premium variants.
As part of the launch, buyers will receive the “Power” series package, valued up to RM8,000, which includes: Power Xchange (RM2,000 trade-in for non-roadworthy vehicles), Power Online (RM1,800 for 5 years of unlimited internet data), Power Financing (RM1,700 for a 5-year loan at 1.98% interest rate with Proton Commerce), Power Home (RM1,500 for a 7kW home charger), and Power Trade-in (RM1,000 exclusive trade-in rebate with Carsome).
Feature Comparison

Exclusive to the Premium variant are features such as 16-inch alloy wheels, a 360-degree panoramic camera, LED headlamps, and a powered tailgate. Crucially, the Premium model also includes an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), which encompasses Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Forward and Rear Collision Warning (FCW/RCW), Lane Change Assist (LCA), and Blind Spot Detection (BSD).

Shared features across both variants include a 70-litre ‘frunk’ (front trunk), 28 litres of under-rear-seat storage, a luggage capacity ranging from 375 litres to 1320 litres, a 14.6-inch Full HD infotainment display with the Atlas Auto operating system, support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, integrated real-time EV charging maps, support for the Proton e.MAS App, leatherette seats, a Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) layout, and a rear multi-link independent suspension system.
