Apple has unveiled a new iPad mini with an OLED display and A20 Pro chip. Malaysian prices start at RM2,999, with pre-orders opening at 1:10am MYT on 29 October 2026 and availability beginning on 6 November.
8.5-inch OLED in a slimmer design
The compact tablet moves to an 8.5-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display, with P3 wide colour, True Tone and up to 1,200 nits of peak HDR brightness. A nano-texture glass option is available on the 256GB and 512GB models.
At 5.4mm thick, the Wi-Fi model weighs 255g. Colour choices are Midnight and Starlight. The tablet also gains an IP67 dust and water resistance rating, tested under controlled conditions at a maximum depth of one metre for up to 30 minutes. Resistance is not permanent, and the rating does not make liquid damage warranty coverage automatic.
A20 Pro varies by storage tier
The 128GB and 256GB configurations use an A20 Pro with a five-core CPU, seven-core GPU and 16-core Neural Engine. The 512GB version steps up to a six-core CPU, retains the seven-core GPU and adds dual 16-core Neural Engines.
Other highlights include a landscape 12MP Center Stage front camera and a 12MP rear camera. Apple Pencil Pro and Apple Pencil (USB-C) are supported, with the accessories sold separately.
Malaysia prices and release date
Standard-glass Wi-Fi pricing is as follows:
| Storage | Malaysia price |
|---|---|
| 128GB | RM2,999 |
| 256GB | RM3,399 |
| 512GB | RM4,299 |
Wi-Fi + Cellular models start at RM3,699. Nano-texture glass costs extra on eligible configurations.
For buyers in Malaysia, the key dates are 29 October for pre-orders and 6 November for availability. The RM2,999 starting price applies to the 128GB Wi-Fi model, rather than every storage or connectivity option.
