British tech brand Nothing has officially launched its Phone (4a) lineup in Malaysia today, April 1, marking the company’s first new release of 2026. The lineup comprises the Phone (4a) and Phone (4a) Pro, both running Android 16 via Nothing OS 4.1, with promises of three OS upgrades and six years of security patches.

The standard Phone (4a) keeps Nothing’s signature transparent aesthetic but swaps the old Glyph Interface for a new Glyph Bar — a strip of 63 mini-LEDs arranged in seven light zones, offering 40% higher brightness than before for customisable notification lighting.
It is powered by a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset paired with a 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED display running at up to 120Hz, and carries an IP65 rating for dust and water resistance.

The camera system is a triple setup with a 50MP primary shooter with OIS, a 50MP periscope telephoto at 3.5x optical zoom (up to 70x digital), and an 8MP ultrawide, complemented by a 32MP front camera. A 5,080mAh battery with 50W wired charging rounds out the package.

The Phone (4a) Pro steps things up with a slimmer 7.95mm metal unibody chassis and an IP68 rating, available in Black, Silver, and Pink. Its display is a larger 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED panel at 144Hz, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. Rather than a Glyph Bar, the Pro inherits a miniaturised Glyph Matrix from the flagship Phone (3) — a circular display using 137 mini-LEDs capable of showing notifications, time, and custom graphics.

Under the hood, the more powerful Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 drives the device, with performance improvements of around 30% over its predecessor. On the camera front, all three rear sensors are 50MP, with the main shooter using a Sony LYT-700C sensor with OIS, a 3.5x periscope telephoto with OIS, and an ultrawide — supporting up to 140x hybrid zoom, 4K Ultra XDR video, and Dolby Vision. The Pro also ships with a 5,080mAh battery and 50W charging, but no wireless charging.

Both phones feature Nothing’s Essential Space — accessible via a dedicated side button — which auto-archives screenshots, screen recordings, and audio clips, with AI-powered search and analysis built in. Nothing has intentionally kept its AI tools confined to this dedicated space to minimise disruption to everyday use.

In Malaysia, the Phone (4a) is available in a single 12GB + 256GB configuration at RM1,999, while the Phone (4a) Pro (12GB + 256GB) is priced at RM2,299.

Also launching alongside is the Nothing Headphone (a) at RM699.
Pre-orders run from April 2 to 9, with buyers of the Phone (4a) getting an instant RM100 discount, an extended one-year warranty, and branded merchandise. The Headphone (a) pre-order comes with a RM70 discount. General retail opens on April 10, with the warranty and merchandise bundle for Phone (4a) buyers continuing until April 30.
