Nothing Launches Next-Generation True Wireless Earbuds Ear (3)

Nothing has officially announced its latest flagship true wireless stereo (TWS) product, Ear (3). The new earbuds introduce an upgraded acoustic system, innovative Super Mic technology, and a refreshed transparent design that incorporates metal elements for the first time.

Super Mic & Noise Cancellation

At the core of Ear (3) is Super Mic, a dual-microphone system embedded in the charging case. Powered by ambient-filtering technology, it reduces noise levels by up to 95 dB for clear calls in noisy environments. Users can activate it via the TALK button on the case for instant conversations or voice notes, which sync directly to Essential Space with automatic transcription (Nothing OS required).

Each earbud also includes three directional microphones and a bone-conduction Voice Pick-up Unit (VPU). Together with a multi-channel AI environmental noise-cancellation system trained on over 20 million hours of real-world audio, it effectively isolates speech and reduces wind noise by over 25 dB. Real-time Adaptive Noise Cancellation (up to 45 dB) updates every 600 ms to maintain consistent performance.

Sound Performance

Ear (3) features a newly upgraded 12mm dynamic driver with a patterned diaphragm, delivering a 20% larger radiating area than its predecessor. This translates to stronger bass (+4–6 dB), clearer highs (+4 dB), and an overall wider soundstage.

Design & Build

The earbuds retain Nothing’s signature transparent aesthetic, now complemented by polished metal accents. A custom Metal-Insulator-Metal (MIM) antenna improves connection strength, while the charging case is built from 100% recycled aluminium through 27 precision processes, achieving a seamless unibody design without glue.

Battery & Connectivity

Each bud houses a 55 mAh battery, offering up to 10 hours of playback on a single charge and up to 38 hours with the case. A 10-minute fast charge provides up to 10 hours of listening, with wireless charging also supported.

Connectivity includes Bluetooth 5.4 with LDAC, low-latency gaming mode (<120 ms), and seamless pairing across Android (Google Fast Pair), iOS, and Windows (Microsoft Swift Pair). Controls can be customised via the Nothing X app, which also enables Essential Space or ChatGPT integration. Both the earbuds and case are IP54-rated for dust and splash resistance.

Nothing Ear (3) will be available in black and white at a retail price of RM759, with open sales beginning on 6 October 2025.
