CapCut has announced a ChatGPT integration designed to turn a conversation into a video draft, with users able to request changes in plain language before continuing in its web editor.
The announcement at CapCut World in Los Angeles points to a simpler starting point for creators: describe an idea and visual style, bring in existing material, then refine the result through follow-up instructions.
From a prompt to an editable video
The proposed workflow covers generating a draft and making changes such as shortening clips, rearranging shots, replacing visuals, and adjusting text or music. Instead of treating the first generated video as the final result, users can move the project into CapCut’s web editor for more precise timeline work.
That could make the feature useful for short social videos, where a quick first cut often needs several rounds of changes before it is ready to post. Manual editing remains part of the workflow when the timing or layout needs closer attention.
Malaysia rollout is still to be confirmed
The announcement describes the ChatGPT integration as coming soon. It should therefore not be read as confirmation that every Malaysian ChatGPT user can already enable it. A firm local rollout date, supported subscription plans and any generation limits have yet to be confirmed.
CapCut also promotes a separate desktop workflow involving Codex. Availability for that workflow can depend on the app version, account and region; it should not be confused with universal access to the announced ChatGPT integration.
