TuJu users on Android can tap the navigation button again, but the app now hands the trip over to Google Maps. In a test published on 2 November, SoyaCincau found that selecting a destination and tapping navigation brought up a prompt to open Google Maps for directions.
What changed in the Android update
The outlet observed the hand-off in version 2.0.4, which it reported was released on 30 October. Google Maps provides the turn-by-turn directions. The test did not show that TuJu had restored its own in-app guidance, and the outlet did not observe an equivalent change on iPhone at the time.
Highway information remains useful
TuJu previously paused turn-by-turn navigation after complaints about routing and instructions. Its developer had targeted 6 November for completing recovery work. The latest report does not establish whether the Google Maps hand-off is temporary.
Drivers can still use TuJu to look up highway CCTV, toll rates and rest areas. If directions are all you need, you can enter the destination directly in Google Maps.
