Tesla Malaysia is promoting 0% financing for selected Model 3 vehicles, giving prospective buyers another way to reduce the cost of ownership beyond the car’s advertised price.
Tesla’s Malaysian homepage currently advertises a 0% fixed interest rate for the Model 3. Mdroid’s report also cites Tesla Malaysia’s social-media announcement, which specifies selected Model 3 vehicles.
Selected cars, with conditions to confirm
The headline does not establish that every Model 3 variant or every loan tenure qualifies. At the time of writing, the announcement cited by Mdroid did not set out the complete local conditions, including eligible versions, required down payment, loan duration, participating banks and delivery deadline.
Buyers should request a written quotation from Tesla and the financing provider before relying on a monthly-payment illustration. A 0% interest rate also does not mean a zero down payment.
| Item | What buyers should check |
|---|---|
| Eligible vehicle | Which Model 3 variant and order or inventory car qualifies |
| Upfront payment | Required deposit and down payment |
| Loan | Tenure, approval requirements and total repayment |
| Other incentives | Whether rebates can be combined with the promotional rate |
| Timing | Order, finance-application and delivery deadlines |
A financing-led sales strategy
The promotion resembles Tesla’s approach in China, where interest-free financing has been used alongside other incentives to attract buyers. The comparison is about the sales strategy: Chinese financing terms should not be assumed to apply in Malaysia.
Reducing interest costs allows a manufacturer to make a financed purchase more attractive without necessarily changing the vehicle’s list price. For a buyer already planning to borrow, the useful comparison is the full amount paid for the same car under each available offer.
This is not Tesla Malaysia’s first zero-interest campaign. Local coverage from July 2024 documented an earlier Model 3 offer. Its historical bank, deposit and tenure requirements should not be treated as the current campaign’s conditions.
Before ordering, compare the down payment, total instalments, additional charges and any rebate you would forgo. That gives a clearer picture of the offer than the interest-rate headline alone.
