Samsung has officially expanded its foldable lineup to three distinct models for the first time — Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Flip8 — each engineered around a different use case: productivity, immersive content consumption, and self-expression. All three are now available for pre-order in Malaysia, with the lineup starting from RM5,399 for the base Galaxy Z Flip8.

Galaxy Z Fold8: Built for Everyday Discovery

Galaxy Z Fold8 is designed around how people naturally browse, watch, read and game throughout the day. Folded, its 10:16 cover screen suits quick tasks like messaging and short-form video; unfolded, the 4:3 main display becomes a larger canvas for games and films, while rotating it makes the same ratio better suited for reading long-form content.

At just 201g, it’s Samsung’s lightest Galaxy Z Fold to date, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform for Galaxy and a 4,800mAh battery. On the camera side, dual 50MP wide and ultra-wide sensors handle everyday shooting, alongside Dual Recording and My FanCam, which auto-tracks a subject and reframes footage for social-ready clips.

The series also debuts Samsung’s new Flex Titanium display structure — a titanium-alloy film paired with a reinforced titanium plate — aimed at thinner builds without sacrificing durability, better crease resistance, and smoother hinge feel. Galaxy Z Flip8 leans into personal expression and quick interactions. At 180g and 6.1mm thick, it’s Samsung’s lightest and slimmest Flip to date.

The FlexWindow cover screen is reworked as an “AI-native” interface, integrating Now Brief for glanceable daily insights and Gemini Intelligence for voice- or side-key-triggered automation.

Its camera setup pairs a 50MP sensor with Samsung’s ProVisual Engine for selfies, and adds a new Horizontal Lock option within Super Steady stabilization, along with FlipShot for customizable cover-screen shooting and a Mirror view mode for quick checks before a photo.

All three models run Galaxy AI experiences tuned for foldable form factors, including:

Samsung is positioning trust as core to the new lineup, anchored by Samsung Knox’s chip-level protection and Knox Vault’s tamper-resistant hardware layer. A new addition, Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection (KEEP), secures data used by the on-device Personal Data Engine. One UI 9 also introduces an AI Assistant Activity dashboard for reviewing AI automations in one place, alongside expanded Privacy Alerts for background permission risks.
