Proton has officially launched the e.MAS 7 PHEV in Malaysia, setting a new entry point for the plug-in hybrid market with an introductory price starting at RM105,800.
This SUV is available in three variants—Prime, Premium, and Premium Plus—and marks the brand’s shift toward an “electric-first” hybrid strategy.

The final pricing, which includes a RM4,000 launch rebate for the first 5,000 customers, is as follows:
-
Prime: RM105,800
-
Premium: RM119,800
-
Premium Plus: RM125,800
Beyond the initial rebate, buyers can access further incentives. Owners of vehicles aged 20 years or older can apply for a RM4,000 trade-in rebate under the National Matching Grant Programme. For those with newer trade-ins, a RM1,000 rebate is available through Carsome.
Technically, the e.MAS 7 PHEV features the EM-i Super Hybrid system, combining a 1.5L hybrid-specific engine with an electric motor to produce 193 kW (262 PS) and 262 Nm of torque.

While all models share this powertrain, the battery technology differs across the range. The Prime and Premium variants use an 18.4 kWh CATL battery, providing an 83 km (WLTP) electric range and a total travel distance of 943 km.
The flagship Premium Plus is equipped with a larger 29.8 kWh Aegis “Short Blade” battery. This upgrade extends the electric-only range to 146 km (WLTP) and the total combined range to over 1,000 km. It also benefits from faster charging, supporting 60 kW DC fast charging that can replenish the battery from 30% to 80% in 16 minutes, compared to the 30 kW support on lower variants.

Standard features across the lineup include a 15.4-inch 2.5K Flyme Auto infotainment screen and a Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS).

Moving up to the Premium and Premium Plus adds luxury touches like a 16-speaker Flyme Sound system, ventilated front seats, a Head-Up Display (HUD), and 19-inch alloy wheels.
