The REDMI Turbo 5 series has officially launched in China, consisting of the standard REDMI Turbo 5 and the REDMI Turbo 5 Max. Positioned in the mid-range segment with a focus on performance-to-price efficiency, the new lineup introduces updates to internal hardware, battery capacity, and structural design.
The REDMI Turbo 5 Max serves as the high-performance model, featuring the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s chipset. Built on a 3nm process with a second-generation “all-big-core” architecture, the processor reaches a peak clock speed of 3.73GHz. The device integrates LPDDR5 Ultra RAM and UFS 4.1 storage, achieving an AnTuTu benchmark score exceeding 3.61 million.
To manage thermal output during high-load operations, the Max variant utilizes a 5800mm² 3D convex circulation cooling pump designed to improve heat dissipation efficiency through increased contact with heat-generating components.
Battery specifications are a primary feature of the series. The REDMI Turbo 5 Max is equipped with a 9000mAh “Jinshajiang” battery, which offers an energy density of 894Wh/L, marking the largest battery capacity currently available in Xiaomi’s smartphone lineup.
The Max also sports a massive 6.83 inch OLED screen that utilises the M10 emitter tech, providing full range high frequency PWM dimming and DC dimming and 3500 nits peak brightness.
Official testing indicates that the device’s battery life exceeds that of several competing models equipped with 10,000mAh capacities.
Both models support 100W wired fast charging and are compatible with the PPS protocol. Additionally, the series provides up to 27W reverse wired charging to power external devices.
The standard REDMI Turbo 5 balances physical dimensions with performance. It features a 6.59-inch display and a 7560mAh battery within a relatively narrow chassis. This model is powered by the Dimensity 8500-Ultra processor and includes a flagship-grade cooling system.
The display, marketed as the “Super Sunshine” screen, supports 1.5K resolution and is calibrated for improved legibility in high-ambient-light environments.
In terms of construction, the Turbo 5 series utilizes CNC-machined metal frames and fiberglass back panels to improve structural integrity. The Max version includes a distinct metal “racetrack” camera module and integrated dual-ring turbine lighting that triggers for system notifications or gaming events.
Both models feature a primary camera equipped with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS).
The standard edition is available in Shadow Black, Sea Cyan, and Cloud White, while the Max version adds a signature “Sunshine Orange” option. Hardware features across the line include 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensors, NFC, and X-axis linear motors.
Early purchasers in the Chinese market also receive a five-year battery health warranty.
