HONOR has expanded its Magic8 lineup in China with the launch of the Magic8 Pro Air and Magic8 RSR.
HONOR Magic8 Pro Air
This is a model positioned around the concept of “Pro in the Air,” targeting the ultra-thin yet fully featured flagship segment.

The Magic8 Pro Air focuses on extreme portability without sacrificing premium feel. The device measures just 6.1mm in thickness and weighs 155g, delivering a notably light, one-handed experience that HONOR describes as almost weightless.
In terms of design, the phone retains HONOR’s signature horizontal camera layout. The camera module is seamlessly fused with the rear glass using an integrated cold-carving process, creating a smooth, uninterrupted surface.
HONOR is offering four color options—Shadow Black, Feather White, Light Orange, and Fairy Purple—finished with a complex seven-layer coating and baking process that gives the surface a refined, metallic satin sheen.
Despite its slim profile, the Magic8 Pro Air is powered by MediaTek’s current top-tier Dimensity 9500 flagship processor, aiming to deliver full “Pro-level” performance in a significantly thinner form factor.

On the front, the device features a 6.31-inch 1.5K LTPO flat display with up to 6,000 nits peak brightness and 4,320Hz high-frequency PWM dimming. An under-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor is also integrated into the panel.
Structural durability is a key focus for this lightweight model. HONOR debuts its new “Cicada Wing Architecture,” combined with an aerospace-grade aluminum unibody frame and reinforced with HONOR Giant Rhino Glass. As a result, the Magic8 Pro Air is positioned as the industry’s first ultra-thin smartphone to achieve both IP68 and IP69 certifications, while also offering water resistance rated up to 6 meters.

Imaging is where the “Air” model delivers its strongest “Pro” credentials. The phone is equipped with a triple-camera system consisting of a 50MP large-sensor main camera, a 50MP ultra-wide camera, and a 64MP periscope telephoto lens, covering focal lengths from 23mm to 148mm. It also introduces an AI zoom array flash system, using a five-light X-array design that intelligently adjusts illumination based on zoom level, providing more consistent lighting for portrait shots across different shooting scenarios.

For battery life, the Magic8 Pro Air packs a 5,500mAh Qinghai Lake battery into its ultra-thin body, achieving an energy density of 917Wh/L. It supports 80W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging.
Additional features include Bluetooth 6.0, eSIM support with four-number dual-standby capability, and an infrared blaster.
In China, pricing starts at 4,999 yuan for the 12GB + 256GB variant, while the top-end 16GB + 1TB model is priced at 5,999 yuan, equivalent to around RM3,500.
HONOR Magic8 RSR Porsche Design
Unveiled at HONOR’s latest launch event, the HONOR Magic8 RSR is the brand’s annual ultra-premium flagship and the newest product from its long-term partnership with Porsche Design. The device features extensive customization across design, materials, and imaging.
The Magic8 RSR continues Porsche Design’s supercar-inspired aesthetic, with a flowing rear-line motif derived from the aerodynamic roofline of the Porsche 911. It uses an ultra-microcrystalline nano-ceramic back panel rated at 8.5 on the Mohs hardness scale, improving scratch resistance while delivering a polished, jade-like finish through A0-grade mirror polishing. The phone comes in two exclusive colors, Moonlight Stone and Slate Gray, both color-tuned by Porsche’s Stuttgart-based design team.
Powering the HONOR Magic8 RSR is Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Elite platform, paired with up to 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.

On the front of the HONOR Magic8 RSR is a 6.71-inch quad-curved display with 1.5K resolution, a 120Hz LTPO refresh rate, and a peak HDR brightness of up to 6,000 nits. The panel is also certified with TÜV Rheinland Global Eye Protection 5.0.

Imaging is the RSR’s main standout feature. It features a 50MP ultra night main camera alongside a 200MP ultra night periscope telephoto camera. It debuts CIPA 6.5-level stabilization, currently the highest in the industry, combined with HONOR’s AiMAGE stabilization engine, enabling up to three seconds of handheld telephoto shooting without noticeable blur.

HONOR also introduced a dedicated professional imaging kit for the device, which includes a magnetic camera grip, a 2.35x telephoto converter lens, and a 67mm adapter ring, turning the phone into a more photography-oriented tool.
In connectivity, the phone integrates HONOR’s second-generation in-house satellite chip, supporting dual TianTong and BeiDou satellite communication. It runs MagicOS 10, centered around the YOYO intelligent agent, enabling cross-app task execution and seamless multi-device collaboration.

The Magic8 RSR is rated IP69K for dust and water resistance and supports dual 3D biometric unlocking via ultrasonic fingerprint and 3D facial recognition.

Battery capacity reaches 7,200mAh using HONOR’s new-generation Qinghai Lake battery, supporting 120W wired and 80W wireless fast charging.
In China, pricing starts at 7,999 yuan for the 16GB + 512GB model, while the 24GB + 1TB variant is priced at 8,999 yuan, equivalent to about RM5,239. There is currently no word on an international release.
