Huawei has officially expanded its premium foldable lineup in Malaysia with the grand debut of the Huawei Mate X7. After a highly successful launch in China last November, where it quickly became one of the market’s top-selling foldables, this flagship device has finally made its international appearance.
The Malaysian variant maintains the high-end specifications of its Chinese counterpart but adapts the software experience for global users by running the latest EMUI 15.0.
The Mate X7 arrives in three sophisticated colorways, including Nebula Red, Black, and a standout Brocade White. The latter is particularly notable as it marks the first time Huawei has integrated traditional non-genetic “Cloud Brocade” craftsmanship into a smartphone’s aesthetic, giving it a texture and visual depth that is unique in the industry.
Despite its premium materials, the device remains incredibly light and thin, weighing only 235g. It measures a mere 4.5mm in thickness when unfolded and stays under the 10mm mark at 9.5mm when folded, striking a sophisticated balance between portability and screen real estate.

Durability is a core focus for this generation, as Huawei introduces the “Ultra-Reliable Xuanwu Architecture” to the Mate X7. This design is reinforced by second-generation Kunlun Glass, which significantly boosts its resistance to drops and scratches. Furthermore, the device sets a high bar for foldable protection with IP58 and IP59 ratings, ensuring it can withstand dust and high-pressure water splashes in various environments.
Under the hood, the Mate X7 is powered by newest Kirin processor, delivering a performance increase of over 42% compared to the previous model.

The display quality is equally impressive, featuring a 6.49-inch 1080p LTPO OLED outer screen that hits a peak brightness of 3000 nits. When opened, the 8-inch inner display offers a resolution of 2416×2210 and a peak brightness of 2500 nits. Both screens support a 1-120Hz adaptive refresh rate and 1440Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, providing a fluid and eye-friendly visual experience whether you are scrolling through social media or watching high-definition content.

Huawei has also managed to shrink its flagship-grade camera modules to fit the slim profile of the Mate X7 without compromising on quality. The rear imaging system is led by a 50MP Ultra Lighting HDR main camera with a variable aperture, accompanied by a 3.5x optical periscope telephoto lens, a 40MP ultra-wide sensor, and the second-generation Red Maple color sensor for more accurate skin tones and color reproduction. The 1/1.28-inch main sensor is designed for extreme low-light performance, boasting a 100% increase in light intake compared to the iPhone 17 Pro Max, while the periscope lens sees a 127% improvement in light intake over the same competitor.

The device is rounded out with a massive 5600mAh battery that supports 66W wired fast charging and 50W wireless fast charging. Connectivity is also future-proofed with support for the latest Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0 standards.
