AirAsia Launches ‘AirAsia World’ on Roblox to Offer Gamified Exploration of ASEAN
AirAsia has officially launched AirAsia World on Roblox, introducing a vibrant metaverse experience that blends cultural discovery with interactive gaming. The platform aims to engage users in a fun and educational virtual journey across the ASEAN region.
Developed in collaboration with AirAsia brand co. (Abc), Objekk, and Lumiworks Sdn Bhd, and supported by the IP 360 Metaverse grant from Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), AirAsia World marks a strategic expansion into digital entertainment and immersive experiences.
Structured around two key pillars — ASEAN Exploration and Rewarding Experiences — the platform offers:
- ASEAN Exploration
Players can virtually explore culturally inspired environments that reflect the diversity of the ASEAN region, offering a preview of real-world travel destinations. - Rewarding Experiences
The game includes engaging mini-games, interactive journal entries, and seasonal updates, designed to reward users as they play and learn.
Key Gameplay Areas:
- AirAsia Central:
The central hub of the game, featuring mini-games and user-generated content. Players can race in the AirAsia Ride Grand Prix or try their hand at piloting in the AirAsia Pilot Academy, collecting coins while dodging obstacles. - ASEAN Island:
A virtual tour of the ASEAN region where players can explore iconic destinations and enjoy in-game versions of AirAsia’s popular Santan meals, mirroring the in-flight menu.
AirAsia World follows other digital initiatives from the airline’s IP development team, including the AirAsia Buds Adventures YouTube series and the RedGames Jam game development competition, now in its third year.
